It’s equal parts cringe and grotesque. Grotesque because of the troons and other fetishists, cringe because of the mid-wit HR/corporate types pushing it everywhere, and the straight marrieds excitedly trotting along - often with their kids - wearing glitter and face-paint to defend the invented “rainbow community” and “trans kids”.

Older gay male here. Preach! LGB, ax the T!

If you are speaking literally not figuratively, please use the double-sided lesbian Labrys to ax the T.

Every day I move a little closer to literally!

I will TOTALLY be your pen pal and put money on your commissary if it comes to that. Although if I were you, I'd try "the SOB had it coming" defense. Just because it hasn't worked yet...

Cell block tango…He had it coming!

In the back of my mind I was aware of all this on a subconscious level, but you have crystallised it into cogent soundbites. Trans- and their allies have superglued themselves to the homosexual banner ( brilliant metaphor) and then have proceeded to shit mightily all over that flag.

Many of us still do. These AGP's and, frankly, straight people, are out of control. There ARE and have been for decades, private parties, events, networks for all this stuff and it used to be kept to like-minded consenting adults. These people are involving the public, who NEVER CONSENTED to see this crap, in their fetishes. It is unacceptable and it would still be unacceptable inappropriate even if it WERE NOT bringing very negative attention to the entire LGBTQIABINGOWASHISNAME-O Community.

The first National March for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Washington, D.C (1979), and the first I ever attended, was a revelation, one, alas, not to be repeated. Today we call the rallies, parties, and marches " Pride," as if we were kindergarten teachers working with shy five-year-olds. Well, here's another one opting out of "Pride" in Columbus, Ohio, in 2026. As a leftist, feminist, longtime Democrat, veteran of the sixties' women's liberation movement, and a raving sex realist, I wouldn't be welcome anyway. So, I'll miss out on witnessing the spectacle of transactivists, drag performers, and gender identity ideologists in what was once a celebration of strength, resilience, and insistent demand for civil rights, demonstrate, yes, their Pride.

Adult social and some political groups in the area will be represented, as well as organizations in the business of affirming children as young as twelve in the mistaken belief that they can change sex, encouraging them to believe that they need medicalization and body mutilation. While homophobia and lies are pushed on the kids, participants will be treated to the antics of the ubiquitous drag queens presenting their mocking, insulting, heavily exaggerated stereotyped versions of women. What fun! Maybe there will be kink enthusiasts and furries.

Although there will be a few female sex mimics, most will be men claiming to be women, but both groups will harmoniously parade their "authentic selves," their new and improved bodies as they protest the coming "genocide." Let's not forget that all are doing their best to decimate the remaining sex-based rights of women, to divide the Democratic Party, and to force us to focus on changing rooms, athletics, shelters, and prisons instead of working to stop reactionary forces in this country.

Columbus Pride will be reverently covered by Buckeye Flame, the LGBTQI, etc., online news source that claims to speak for all Ohio LGBT etc., residents. It does not. The gatekeeper/ editor prioritizes transgender issues and refuses to print articles or stories that are critical of regressive gender ideology. Because--wait for it-- calling "transwomen" men is to out yourself as a TRANSPHOBE. They're all parroting the (Democratic) party line, one that kept Sherrod Brown out of office in Ohio and most likely will again in November. So back to the fifties and to rigid sex roles, and, for lesbians and gay men, back to the closet. But we still have our Pride!

Excellent article. You really nail why there should be no T in LGB.

Thanks for this, Louise. I wrote about the alcohol industry's sponsorship of Pride, and how this contrasts to Islam in the UK here, comments welcome: https://danielhowardjames.substack.com/p/how-britain-becomes-an-islamic-state
